Goodreads summary:

Nowhere But Here - coverAn unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both. Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down. No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

Nowhere But Here - Teaser 1

From Oz's Point of View. Set up: Emily has been separated from her parents and after a long night of worrying, her emotions and exhaustion catch up to her and it causes Oz to have his first fluttering of emotion for Emily.

WIND BLOWS IN FROM THE NORTH AND A FEW pieces of Emily’s dark hair sweep across her face. One minute Emily’s a bright flame, then a gust snuffs out her light. Her body sways like a top at the tail end of a spin and I lunge forward.
Emily’s knees give out and her eyes roll back into her head. I catch her inches before she crashes onto the porch. She’s light as I swing her into my arms and her head circles onto my shoulder, reminding me of one of those rag dolls Violet used to play with when we were kids.
“Emily!” Eli’s on top of me, attempting to yank her out of my arms. “Open your eyes.”
Her eyelids flutter, but remain closed as her hand limply clutches my shirt. Eli rams his arms underneath mine and he makes Emily a rope in a tug-of-war. I should let her go. I should want to let her go, but then Emily goes and screws it up for me. “Oz.”
It was a damn whisper, but I heard my name on her lips and so did Eli. His eyes flash to mine and Cyrus’s words repeat in my mind. That girl trusts you. And screw us both for that.
“She’s exhausted,” I say. “Hasn’t slept at all tonight.”
Eli’s expression hardens as he glares at me. I’ve seen Eli throw a coma-inducing punch for less defiance and I readjust the sleeping girl in my arms. A reminder if he decks me now, he’ll be putting his daughter at risk.
Temporarily surrendering, Eli cups Emily’s face in his hands and angles her toward him. “Emily, please open your eyes.”
She does. It’s barely a crack and they’re completely glazed.
“Everything’s going to be okay,” Eli affirms.
“I want my mom and dad,” she mumbles.
“You’ll see them tomorrow.” Eli pushes a strand of hair from her cheek. “You’re safe here. I promise.”
She rejects Eli by curling into me. Her head fits perfectly in the crook of my neck and I loathe the wave of protectiveness that rumbles through my body. Emily’s fingers tighten their grip near my shoulders and the impulse is to shield her from the guys gawking at this intimate scene. Yeah, this is club business, but Emily never asked for any of this.

BOOK REVIEW: The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout ||GUEST POST!!

Hello there! Nylah here- but only for a short time. This is a review of Jennifer L. Armentrout's The Return by my book wifey, Kitty C!!
For those of you who don't know (WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! lol j/k) me and Kitty are book besties even though she's in Sweden and I'm in the UK- we met when she travelling to the Twitterverse. Anyways, now she's a blogger and an all round awesome gal.
To get in touch with her, check out these links!
Her book blog!
Without any further ado, I'll hand you over to Kitty!

Heyy people, Kitty here! As you can tell I am guest reviewing in this blog.  Nylah my lovely
friend asked me to do a review for a book, so here I am ready to complete the mission. :)

First of all I hope you are happy and enjoying your day. Me? I´m exhausted and we can blame
my school for that. Too many tests this month… because I live in Sweden and of course we
9th graders had to do this extremely annoying national test. (No hate, I do secretly love you

Okayy now to the review!

I know that you don’t really know anything about me. But know that I love Jennifer L.
Armentrout’s books and writing style, she is the reason I dream about alien invasions (only
because there is a chance that sexy hot aliens will come to our planet).

Anyway, I’m here to talk about one of Jennifer’s most recently published book; The Return! :D

Do you like Greek Mythology, steamy love stories, hot ninja like boy (more like god), and
hilarious conversations? Then this book is the right book for you.

The return is a spin-off series to the covenant series, but you don’t have to read the covenant
series to start The return. Did I make sense? But yeah, I do recommend you to read the
covenant series before reading this book, just because you will get a better view of character
development and backstory. Questions like: why does Seth (main character) think that he
doesn’t deserve  anything?
Those questions will be better answered in the covenant series.

Left: The cover we have in store, the very manly cover ;)
Right picture: The hot mysterious cover, *grabby hands*

About the book (from la Goodreads) :
The Fates are cackling their bony asses off…
It’s been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so
far, the jobs they’ve given him have been violent and bloody–which is kind of all right with
But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He’s got to play protector while keeping
his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new
assignment might be the most challenging yet.
Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy’s deal might be, but it’s a good bet that his arrival
means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-
sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of
ancient myth is gunning for her. But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her
and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of
Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.
This book is a New Adult read, it mainly means that this book is suited for mature/older
So yes this book contains a lot of dirty thoughts, ‘’deeper’’ feelings, and the characters curse
a lot too. But not that intense…  The return is not like Fifty Shades of grey kind of dirty. It’s
more like, Seth likes Josie and yeahhh boys/men can do things when they are attracted to
someone. *cough*
I give this book 4.5 stars because the story was entertaining and funny at some parts. Even
though I’m soon to be 16, and not really recommended to read New Adult books I still do.
Just because the story sound good. You only live once… J
· ‘’I let out the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. “Guess what?”
Meeting his amber-colored eyes, I admitted what probably wasn’t a secret, but what I felt
like I needed to put into words. “I like you, Seth.”
He stopped his hand over mine, staying there, as he gave me a lopsided smile. “Guess what?”
“What?” I whispered.
Seth shifted so that his lips brushed mine as he spoke. “I like you too, Josie.”
· “I ran over a squirrel once."
Blinking open my eyes, I drew back as far as she'd let me.
"I ran over a squirrel the second time I ever drove a car," she repeated. "I also hit a deer.
And when I was seventeen, I clipped a cat. Before I left for college, I backed into a dog."
"Gods," I muttered.”
· “Your sarcasm and general assholeness are not necessary,” Apollo remarked casually. I
grinned at him. “I don’t think ‘assholeness’ is a word.”
· “I am your father.” He glanced at Seth and smirked. “That’s the second Star Wars nod.
Keeping track?”
· “A soft smile curved up her lips, and my gut dropped a little. A smile…I’d never known a
smile could have that kind of effect. Could feel like a kick to the chest.”
And many more! I think you should read this book and explore this book and meet new
characters such as Luke, Deacon, Alex… So pick this book up!
Happy reading awesome people :D See ya! //Kitty

Thank you, Kitty!! I don't know about you, but I was persuaded to buy The Return with that STELLAR review. Awesome work, Kitty.

Thanks ×1000000 for reading this post- remember to comment below letting me know which is your fave cover! I love the second one more :)
Until next time..bye!! :D

Hello!! Welcome to 'Always Falling for Book Guys' :p

Stay tuned at the end-ish for an EXCERPT and GIVEAWAY! Eeeeeeee!!
Yes, this post was supposed to go up yesterday (hence, the
release day was yesterday), but I had personal
obligations that restricted me from putting
time into creating this post and making
it my own :)

Apologies for that! Let's get started :))

Goodreads summary + cover:
In the passionate, gut-wrenching sequel to Amber Hart’s Until You Find Me, Raven and Jospin must fight for each other in a world where love is never safe—and power is deadly.
Raven, a college girl from Michigan, came to the jungles of Cameroon searching for closure. Falling for Jospin, a handsome, charismatic hunter with dark secrets of his own, was never
part of the plan. But despite their differences, their attraction is addictive, as exhilarating and wild as the rain forest itself—and also as dangerous.
For the sake of both their lives, their heated affair must remain a secret. Raven wants justice for her conservationist father’s death; to help her, Jospin must turn his back on his own father and the only life he has ever known. Together they risk being hunted by a band of ruthless poachers, but they take the chance anyway, working to bring down their enemies between each stolen kiss.
But when one slip puts Raven’s life at stake, Jospin knows he must act. He has captured Raven’s heart—now can he set her free?

How fracking amazing does that sound??! Wowza! Dat cover 'tho o_O
Yes, it is New Adult (and hey, I recently turned 17, so I can read them now!! I'm gonna start with this! #MyFirstNYNovel )

Colors swirl like a tornado, paint slashing white paper. I don’t have a method behind this picture. Just anger. Just dark-colored smears and disoriented thoughts.

I don’t belong at the compound.

I stop painting for a moment. Stare at my stained hands. Try not to think about how this paint came from Mr. Tondjii’s warehouse, the same warehouse that holds boxes of canned food and gorilla meat.

The paper comes from Mr. Tondjii’s warehouse too. I can’t risk going to the habitat for my canvases. And, truthfully, there’s no guarantee that I’d ever have the strength to leave the habitat again if I were to see Jospin there, where I feel the safest—no guarantee that I’d come back to the compound to finish what I started.

I rip up the picture and start another one. Clovis gives me space. Watching as I work on the forest floor, but not saying a word. Keeping me safe and letting me go. It amazes me that he can lock it all up inside. His expression is neutral, as if he’s admiring the sun-speckled jungle. But I wonder: Does he ever want to let it all out? The lies and pain? His life is just as much at risk as mine, but he handles it better. He’s been dealing with it for so much longer than I have. Deceiving the alpha for a small chance to change the jungle.

Clovis claims he’s doing the right thing, even if he loses his life because of his so-called treachery. How many lives have I stolen? he questions. So many, Raven, he says. It’s all I have left to offer, he declares, to save what’s left of the gorilla species.

It’s all I have left to offer is what resonates with me. Because that’s exactly how I feel. This is all I have left to offer Dad, to carry out the mission that he started.

That he died for.

My second painting is slower. I’m holding paint tubes with my injured hand, the one that still can’t make a complete fist. Though I exercise it, I know it will never be the same, yet I still hope. Maybe that’s pointless, but I don’t care.

There are only three colors in my hand—purple, gray, and red—but I make do. This time, I paint the forest. Trees with leaves like cupped palms, trees with leaves like razor blades. My art forest is ghostly, murky. Smudges that could be anything. All they need to do is take a more definite shape. Form their destinies, these shadow things.

If I tried hard enough, could I do the same? Shape my destiny? Claim it as my own? Maybe I decide. Maybe it’s up to me, not to fate. Maybe fate is a trickster who fools you into thinking you have no control. I don’t know. But I have to try. My life might not be safe, but at least I’ll know that I chose this: to stop a monster.

Because Mr. Tondjii is just that.

I paint more and think of Jospin. Tears ask my permission to gather, to fall down my face, but I don’t let them. I don’t know if anyone, besides Clovis, is watching. Surely they are. Surely they don’t trust me just yet. Smart of them. So I’ll give them this: a girl who likes to paint. That’s all they know from the outside.

You’ll never see my insides.

By the end, I’m holding a picture of myself standing in shadow, looking out at the forest. Tiny relics rest at my painted feet. An eternity symbol for Dad, a knife for Jospin, a splotch of purple in the loose shape of a heart for Mama, the word life in sprawling, curling script. All right there, seemingly within reach. Yet Painted Me can’t grab them, because she’s too focused on the forest, which is covered in blood. Streaks of what look like ashen people line the forest. The sky seems to be falling. A world collapsing slowly above their heads.

I glance down at my real shadow. It’s sitting on the forest floor, its posture rigid. I think about the familiarity of my shadow. Find comfort in it. My shadow understands me. Copies my every move perfectly. Has been with me from the beginning. I can count on my shadow to always be there, one of the only things that will never leave me. My shadow reflects the darkest side of me. Even in the face of so much light. Especially then.

“What does it mean?”

Hearing Clovis’s voice startles me out of concentration. I peer at him. Dreads brushing his shoulders, his dark skin baking in spears of sunshine, arms leaning on his knees, sitting on a rock, and bending toward me to better look at my painting. His voice is soft and deep in case we’re not alone.

“It means,” I say, whispering back, “that I will crumble their world, the poachers, every one of them.”

Clovis’s lips twitch into the beginning of a smile. “Good.”

He doesn’t doubt me. He shouldn’t. I will find their weaknesses, even Mr. Tondjii’s. And then, only then, can I have the things waiting for me.

I reach out. Tear the painting to shreds. Because there will be no evidence here.

Urm, WOW! How amazing does this sound?! It keeps getting better

Why the blog name change?!?!?!?!?!?!!

Welcome to 'Always Falling for Book Guys'! You may or may not be thinking 'Whaaa? Wasn't this Spring Reads or something?'
Well, my good friend Teddy Rose (I consider her a wise blogging expert) made me aware that changing a blog name seasonally can make it impossible to be searched- something to do with search engine optimization.
Another lil' thing I'd like to make aware is that my goal is to have people read and enjoy and act upon my reviews; not to be the most searched. The reason for this change is to make it easier for authors and readers when I host a book tour or something.
So for all intents and purposes, our little book haven is called 'Always Falling for Book Guys'

I finally made a new picture/icon thingy!

No, wait I forgot to give some book info; let's start with that first

Okay where'a the nearest corner?
Just gonna crawl there for a lil' bit

This book actually made me cry. Me, Nylah, cry. I never cry, I actually thought I had a cold heart (hey, don't sympathize me, I'm cool with that..well I was <--No pun intended..about the 'cool' thing. Never mind)
It was an emotional rollercoaster; I've suffered from too many feels from this book so I'm gonna take a week's vacation. Lol.
As I mentioned in another review of another novel in this series, I- the reader- was in America's head so I've suffered heartbreak, loss, love and tonnes of other-normally-nonexistant-to-me emotions.
This pretty much sums me up:
There are no flaws of this novel. Truly. I loved every element and am sad it's over. Like IS THAT IT?!! But I have heard of a spinoff with their daughter to come out in early May (Coincidence?! I think NOT) so EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Like with the other two novels, it was written in America's POV and her perception on life is amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

5 stars!! 🙌

There were, however, some questions that were left unanswered that I really need answers to:
..Why and how was America's dad a rebel?
..Why and how was Kriss a rebel?
..Amberly....WHY?! Jokes, I know- for storyline purposes
..Why wasn't Gregory Illea a huge part of this?
..I ship it FedEx style but what made Maxon suddenly shift from Kriss to America? And when did that happen when he was ~sudder~ shot?
..Like how did they resolve the Asperica thing so quickly??
Hopefully we'll find these out soon?

The characters have changed a great amount- or maybe just found themselves, idk but I need to write new descriptions of them. Here, we, go:............
Queen America Singer~The girl who once compared herself to everyone by saying 'The Perfectionist, the Sweetheart, the Diva . . . and me.” is now my fave Girl Power Protagonist..and hey she's also a Queen, too.
King Maxon Shreave~ Maxon is everything. He took a bullet for America, he turned into a jokester, BUT (why am I saying but- he's flawless), BUT he wanted America to say those three words first. Erm..why? The moment he knew he loved her he should have said it (lmao, who am I to talk?) but I kind of get it. But he should have said it.
Kriss~ Maxon's other choice in the final two who kind of turned lethal and was, brace yourself....a Northern rebel. I know, I know, can't believe it either.
Aspen Leger~ Aspen matures alot in this novel. Like he finally comes to terms with him no longer having feelings for 'Mer' AND walked her down the aisle. This guy knows exactly where his loyalties lie: With his job (he got shot ans almost couldn't walk :o) and Lucy. Yes, Lucy- America's maid. Speaking of maids:...
The maids~ Mer's squad were flawlessly amazing. They tried to help her be sexy and were just downright awesome. However, (man I hate that word) something tragic happened. Read it to find it {which is ridiculous of me seeing as this is a spoiler-y region}
The Singer fam~ I can' painful...okay, here goes
Shalom Singee died and was a rebel!?! I still don't understand that
The mum and May and Gerard are fine.
There was a nice sister-sister talk between Kenna and America, re: Aspen/Asperica
Kota is horrible.
The Queen and the King~ At first I thought 'Oh, man. This was done for storyline purposes -_-' But then, when Maxon was in the King's suite, he explained to homegirl that Amberly took a bullet for Clarkson *sniff* I cool, I cool ><
The Elites~ With it being a competition, ovviously things got rough. KRISS WAS A REBEL! CELESTE GOT SHOT IN THE HEAD 😢 But there were good times. Like when they decided to have a photo-op with the Queen and when Kriss shut the door on Maxon's face after her gave them his camera.
The Rebels~ Georgia and her husband were sweet and all...but why, on Wikia, does it say thay *SPOILER ALERT?* Amberly and Clarkson and Gaveil were rebels?!?!?!? Did I miss something in the book?! Seriously, enlighten me in the comments ⬇

MY FAVOURITE QUOTES: (In chronological order)😏
  • "Suck it in, miss". I obeyed, and as the dress cliched me in again, I thought of a soldier going to war. Different armour but same idea.
  • '...and even though he wasn't watching me, he was still suppressing a smug expression as he cut his food.'
  • There were four girls and one prince, and three of us would be leaving soon with little more than an interesting story of how we spent our fall.
  •  Before I could even sip, Maxon slid the bowl of sugar in front of me. Like he knew.
  • Because when you're on the bottom, your only choice is to blame the top.
  • "Not wanting the crown means you’re probably the best person to have it.”
  • Unfortunately, it looked like the universe was plotting against me.
  • .."I like that we disagree—it’s one of my favorite things about you, actually—but I don’t want to argue anymore..."
  • “Leave it to you to find beauty in something others would say ruins a day.”
  • Maxon broke the kiss and looked at me. “You’re so pretty when you’re a mess.”
  • I carefully tucked my love for Maxon away in my heart, a little afraid of this feeling.
  • “We need something to hold your pants up or it’s going to be a very scandalous evening. Well, more so than it already is.”
  • As if he’d won the argument, Maxon looked at me with a face that said See!
  • “To be clear, no one agrees with you.” “To be clear, I don’t care.”
  • My chest swelled with pride. That was my Aspen, always trying to fix things.
  • How are you going to talk away a bullet wound, America?
  • I took comfort in the fact that she sewed almost all my clothes. My arm shouldn’t be a problem.
  • sad to know about it and devastated that he couldn’t undo it.
  • “Your eyes look like chocolate,” I mumbled. He smiled. “And yours look like the morning sky.”
  • She took a deep breath. “Officer Leger.” “Ooooh,” I said, more shocked than I could express.
  • “All the same, I won’t quickly forget the sound of your muffled screams as Anne sewed you back together. Come, you should be resting.”
  • Bravery hides amazing things.
  • “Smile, ladies!” the photographer instructed, and we all showed our brightest faces, hoping to cover our dangerous secret.
  • Perfect was my only option.
  • [About guys] I don't need a line. I just need one.
  • She even looked different with the weight of her secrets cast off from her.
  • “Oh, Celeste was making it clear that if I hurt you, she’d make me cry,” he said with a smile. I laughed. “I’ve been on the receiving end of those nails, so be careful there.” “Yes, ma’am.”
  • While I’m humiliated over and over again, and you stand by? That’s not love, Maxon. You don’t even know what love is.” “The hell I don’t! Do you have any idea what I’ve been through—”
  • The whole thing must have been for show since it never seemed to get cold enough here to justify a fire.
  • He sighed, searching for the words. “I can’t tell you she means nothing. I can tell you that you mean more.” “How am I supposed to be sure of that if you can’t send her home?” A devilish smirk came to his face. He moved his lips to my ear. “I can think of a few other ways to show you how you make me feel,” he whispered.
  • Then he left me alone in my sadness.
  •  I was going to fight.
  • “. . . It’s me?” “Of course it’s you.”
  • “How many damn buttons does this thing have?” he complained. “I know! It’s—” Maxon sat up, placing his hands along the bust line of my dress.
  • “Hey,” I said, cupping his cheek. “I’m one of five, remember? I have really good genes in that department. It’ll be all right.”
  • Where I used to imagine you as a girl with a bag full of stones, ready to throw them at any foe who crossed her path, you have become the stone itself.
  • Didn’t the sky know the world was falling apart? How could the sun shine today?
  • “sometimes I think it was all those obstacles that made me love you so deeply.”
  • Brave as I ought to be, I tremble.
Woahhhhhhhhhh, I went overboard. Oh, well; YOLO :D
That's it from me- I hope you enjoyed this very different style of my usual reviews. Comment below if you'd like me to do another review featuring GIFs and my live thoughts- it'll be fun.
I'm going to DEFINITELY read The Heir soon as I buy it in which case I'll have a review up ASAP.

I'm currently taking it slow with reading, as I am still living in Illea/Angeles.

Dear Kiera Cass,
I'd like to thank you personally for creating this world. Honestly. I loved every second of being engulfed in your novels and hope that feeling remains. It truly is an amazing series and I applaud you for your huge dedication and imagiantion. This is definitely a story that'll stay with me forever...the paperback versions are my brithday present (May 5th) (I originally read these as ebooks...which was absolute brutality to my eyes :1)
Anyways, yeah, so thanks Ms Cass. I just wanted to let you know that this series had a huge effect on me- for the better.
