EXCLUSIVE Q+A with Breaking the Rules author, Katie McGarry!!

Yayy!!! I cannot tell you guys how excited I am for the Pushing the Limits, sequel, Breaking the Rules. Arghh! Oh, and that cover...  {Side note: BtR is coming out on ebook on December 8th!}
I'm also excited that the author of the phenomenal series and upcoming novel, Katie McGarry, answered three burning questions that I had.
So here. We. Go:

1). How did it feel to write in Noah and Echo's POVs again?

It felt awesome to write in Echo and Noah's point of views again. They have so much emotion and they care for each other so much. Their hurts break my heart, but their love always puts it back together.

2). The cover for Breaking the Rules is absolutely phenomenal- what were your thoughts and reactions/feelings when you first saw it and will there be water scene(s)?

Yes, there is a water scene in Breaking the Rules and it ends up being a pivotal part of the story. I was happy when I saw the cover and I love that Echo had on short sleeves. She really comes into her own in this novel.

3). Describe Noah, Echo, Isaiah, Rachel, Beth and Ryan in three words (individually)

How about one each?

Noah: Loyal
Echo: Artistic
Isaiah: Protective
Rachel: Strong
Beth: Bold
Ryan: Romantic

Thank you so much, Katie McGarry :)

So I hope this Q+A was helpful and enjoyable and insightful. I had fun, I hope Ms McGarry had fun, and you too!! Comment below on your views on the answers: Do you look forward to the water scene? Can you also not wait for some more Noah Hutchins? Let me know!

BONUS: Holy cow!! I  did not know you can read the first chapter here: (until now, obviously) WHAAAA?? I cannot wait.

I reaaallllyyyyy cannot wait for this book. So, goodbye for now- I'll be in my room counting down the days.

WANT-IT WEDNESDAY: Breaking the Rules by Katie McGarry + EXCLUSIVE teaser!!!

I really, honestly, legitimately cannot wait for this book!!!! Why, you ask? Two words: Noah (and) Echo. The power couple. The bad boy with the bad girl. Arghhh December, come quick!!
As you know, I am a HUGE Katie McGarry fan;
My reviews for her previous books:
So, rumour has it, this is book happens after Dare You To (and presumably between Crash Into You), and it is a freaking road trip with the lovebirds. OMG! A road trip with Noah Hutchins!! I can't...
I am really looking forward to this. I can't even put it into words.

NOTE: It would be wise, if you haven't already, to read Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry, to have a heads up on the epic characters and the PHENOMENAL love story between these two.

This book will be released- on e-book ONLY- on December 8th, by HarlequinTEEN.

Official Goodreads summary: (PREPARE TO BE AMAZED)
A summer road trip changes everything in this unforgettable new tale from acclaimed author Katie McGarry

For new high school graduate Echo Emerson, a summer road trip out west with her boyfriend means getting away and forgetting what makes her so... different. It means seeing cool sights while selling her art at galleries along the way. And most of all, it means almost three months alone with Noah Hutchins, the hot, smart, soul-battered guy who’s never judged her. Echo and Noah share everything — except the one thing Echo’s just not ready for.

But when the source of Echo’s constant nightmares comes back into her life, she has to make some tough decisions about what she really wants — even as foster kid Noah’s search for his last remaining relatives forces them both to confront some serious truths about life, love, and themselves.

Now, with one week left before college orientation, jobs and real life, Echo must decide if Noah's more than the bad-boy fling everyone warned her he'd be. And the last leg of an amazing road trip will turn... seriously epic.

Is this for real???? Arghh, I need this now!! Noahhh <3

BOOK REVIEW: The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen

Goodreads summary:
For eighteen year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. Up until recently, she has been incapable of feeling emotion. And when she's around Alex, the gorgeous new guy at school, she can feel electricity that makes her skin buzz. Not to mention the monsters that haunt her nightmares have crossed over into real-life. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma's life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

GENRE: YA (Young Adult)
AUTHOR: Jessica Sorensen
PUBLISHER: Createspace
SOURCE: ebook, bought (£0, $0)
RELEASE DATE: April 11th 2011

If you are obsessed with books, you would always remember 'that first e-book'. The Fallen Star by Jessica Sorensen was my first e-book. I vividly remember; it was 2011 and I had just bought an Android phone and I downloaded the Kindle app and created an account, etc. I was searching for a specific genre, and, ashamedly, chose this for the fact that it was free. But the cover was also phenomenal.

So yeah, this book (and its sequels) were my first e-books. And the character of Gemma has had a huge impact on me. Truth be told, she changed me. She changed my perception and I loved this whole series.

The book was beautifully written- I loved that it was informal, with the occasional 'WTF' (like seriously, which author uses abbreviations in their books?!) Bravo, Ms Sorensen.
BTW, It was in Gemma's POV.

The basic plot followed Gemma, a teenage girl who lived with her evil grandparents and had no friends. I had to admit, I did find that a bit unrelatable. I mean, Gemma could've had one friend. But Sorensen actively created a somewhat anti-social protagonist.

She meets the new boy, Alex Avery (holy sh*t! He is my ultimate, original book boyfriend. No joke. The first one) he's just..I can't....

Alex is the moody/intentional messy hair/tall/green-eyed/sexy type of bad boy male protagonist. You know the type. The type that play with my heart strings.

SPOILER ALERT?: Gemma has a fallen star's energy inside her and Alex is sorta drawn to it..more ironic than ya think! ;)
Honestly though, I cannot stress how much I LOVED this book. You should read it. Go. Now. Bonus: It's freeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the more reason to GO & GET IT & READ IT and enjoy this world.

I loved every quote in this book. Truthfully. Unashamedly. But I managed to pick a couple of stander outers.

  • “Liar's such a strong word. I prefer to think of it as me omitting some of the details" - Alex”
  • “I landed in the living room of the cabin with the gracefulness of a drunken person, stumbling and banging my knee on the corner of the coffee table. I don’t know what it was—if the falling threw off my equilibrium or something—but I just couldn’t land normally when traveling by a crystal, or by teleporting, or when walking on ice. Oh, fine. Maybe it was just me.” SERIOUSLY HOW COULD YOU NOT LOVE GEMMA??
★ ★ ★ ★ 4.5 stars
I hope my review helped and, as always, comment below letting me know your views (I'll reply!)
